If I write anything else it'll just end up being about

I can't do that.

I got this from Abby. She's nice. She used to go out with David. She's getting married to this other guy now. And David and Lilah is getting married too.

That's a lot of weddings.

Yes.

Anyways,

1. Tell me something obvious about you.
2. Tell me something about you that many don't know.
3. What is your biggest fear?
4. Do you normally go the safe route or take the short cut?
5. Name one thing you want that you can't buy with money.
6. What is your most treasured possession?
7. What is the one thing you hate most about yourself that you do often?
8. Tell me something sexually about you that I don't know.
9. Tell me something sexually about you that everyone knows.
10. What is your favorite lie to tell?
11. Name something you've done once that you can't wait to do again.
12. Are you the jealous type?
13. What is the one person, place or thing you can't say no to?
14. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
15. If you could do something crazy right now, what would it be?
16. When was the last time you cried?
17. When was the last time you felt so good that nothing else mattered?
18. Do you feel comfortable in public with no shirt on?
19. Name something embarrassing you did while being drunk.
20. If you post this in your journal would you like me to answer it?

If you need a job I might be able to help you get something. IT probably won't pay well or be interesting but -

Her jaw drops a little, and she grins, disbelievingly. "Really? I -- seriously? I don't care about pay, anything is more than I'm making now. I'm strong, I know I don't look it, that's why none of the places I've tried took me seriously, probablemente. But I am. If you could -- then I lied, that would be the nicest thing anyone's done for me here."

He grins at her.

I work at a place where we make coffins. But the place we get the wood from, they seem to be looking for workers most of the time. I'll ask.

Caragh gives a little squeal of excitement, grabbing Clay's hands and spinning him around. "Dios mio! De veras? Clay, I could kiss you!"

He laughs, soundlessly.

Well, feel free.

It gives a small sting, seeing a pretty, happy girl, so like - but that doesn't matter.

We're going to pick up some oak the day after tomorrow. I can ask them then.

Still smiling broadly, she leans in and kisses him, once on each cheek, and then, briefly, but firmly, on the lips.

"I always believed things work out okay in the end," she says. "The universe doesn't just let things happen because. If I'm here, there's a reason, and that means I'll be able to survive. Be stupid of the universe just to plunk me down here so I can starve on the streets. Waste of energy, or whatever it took to bring me here. I make a friend, and I get a job, and I survive."

She squeezes his hand and bounces a little on the balls of her feet. "Gracias. Thank you."

The kiss is a bit of a surprise. He didn't think she meant it.

It's a nice one though.

He nods at her sentiment. Not because he agrees necessarily, he still hasn't been able to see any sense in the existence of people like Darkly, but he can see why believing that is good. WHy it makes you stronger. More patient perhaps.

How can I let you know what they say?

Not asking for her address of course. That would hardly be proper. Neither asking for a number - he still hasn't gotten quite used to the abundance of phones.

Caragh frowns, thoughtfully. "Good question. I haven't got a phone yet, and it's not like that'd do us much good anyway. And you shouldn't have to hike all over town to get to the hostel I'm in." She hadn't gone to a shelter, not out of pride, but because she felt that there were people who needed it a lot more than she did -- after all, she didn't have family or children to feed, and she would find a job soon enough.

"Is there a park, or a bar, or something, we could meet at? Whenever's good for you?"

Clay thinks. It's a bit cold to be meeting outside. Then again, he'd rather not suggest the place Callie used to work.

He ends up giving her the address for a small bar close to where he works, scribbled down on a small piece of paper.

I'll be there after 4 most like.

He smiles at her. He knows what it feels like when people won't hire you.
